Refraction is a browser and editor-based coding assistant for repetitive development work. It can explain unfamiliar code, propose refactors, generate documentation and unit tests, find issues, convert between languages, and preserve prior generations in history while supporting a broad range of programming languages and frameworks.
Generated code can be insecure, incompatible, or subtly incorrect even when it looks polished. Remove secrets and personal data, provide a minimal reproducible context, inspect diffs rather than replacing files blindly, verify licenses and dependencies, and require tests, static analysis, security scanning, and human review before merging changes.
Research basis: This is a source-based directory listing prepared from public product information; it is not represented as a hands-on test. Last updated August 8, 2026. Read our methodology.
